Stephen Watts is an experienced Osteopath who understands the importance of a multi-faceted approach for restoring alignment and balance in the body. How Can an Osteopath Help You
Through joint and myofascial manipulation he allows the body to reach a state of balance that naturally improves form and function. This results in less pain, less discomfort, more mobility and increased overall wellness. He has special interest in treating shoulder issues such as frozen shoulder (also known as adhesive capsulitis), neck pain and conditions that may be related to neck pain such as tinnitus, headaches, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunctions. Osteopaths are able to diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions such as:
- Low back pain.
- Neck pain.
- Postural issues.
- Shoulder issues – including frozen shoulder, rotator cuff strains and impingement.
- Referral pain and ‘pinched nerves’ such as pain travelling down the arm or legs, including sciatica.
Stephens background in sports massage prior to becoming an osteopath has given him broad experience treating those involved in martial arts, running, cycling, triathlon, yoga, gymnastics, and powerlifting among others. He applies his osteopathic assessment and treatment along with specific soft tissue manipulation and rehabilitation exercises to help people return to their sport as soon as possible. Common sports injuries include:
- Plantar fasciitis.
- Hamstring pain – overuse and tears.
- Achilles tendinopathy.
- Low back pain and neck pain.
- Wrist pain – common in yoga and gymnastics.
- Shoulder pain – including rotator cuff injuries, postural imbalances and impingement.
- ITB – Iliotibial band syndrome.
His unique, hands-on treatment is paired with exercise, stretching, and lifestyle advice to ensure optimal recovery in the long-term.

Stephen has been in Asia for 5 years, previously working in Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai but for the last year and a half has found his place; and found his home, in Hong Kong. Stephens keen to get outdoors as much as he can and enjoys the contrasting city scape of Hong Kong with its amazing trails for hiking, beaches for camping, chilling or watersports, or heading to the parks to exercise. For many of us who weren’t born in Hong Kong and have explored its outdoors scene for the first time have probably thought at some point ‘Am I really in Hong Kong?’. While he’s enjoyed his stays in other Asian cities, Hong Kong offers the convenience of city life with character and a rich history, but even just 10 minutes from the city you can get one of those ‘Am I really in Hong Kong?’ moments.
